# What you get out of your greenhouse depends on what you let in
When it comes to fighting crop pests and the diseases they can carry, the trend facing growers is one of increasing cost and complexity. Regulations are stricter. Chemical and biological interventions have risen in price.
Fortunately, the most effective and natural way of managing pests is to exclude them from your greenhouse in the first place.

## How can a better insect barrier also maintain airflow?
Before Svensson was a world leader in greenhouse climate technology and know-how, we made cloth. Our mill rose to lead in its field thanks to an unbending commitment to the consistent high quality of our weaving.
After 130 years of refining our work, we faced a new challenge – excluding tiny thrips and other virus-bearing pests from precious greenhouse crops. It would mean innovating new materials, and an ultra-fine weave.
Having spent hundreds of hours at the R&D bench, we were able to develop a breakthrough because of a combination of that traditional craftsmanship, and impenetrable precision.
Xsect’s unique design brings together exquisitely thin proprietary yarns with a consistent hole size across the entire screen. Pests simply don’t get through\*.

## Mesh selection guide – Learn more about insects and mesh
